WITH THANKS TO...

We have so many people to thank and we are only a couple of weeks into the tour. The Renfrewshire  and East Renfrewshire  Councils  have worked together and have been tremendous, we are overwhelmed with the support and generosity they have shown towards making the children's visit unforgettable. The children have been kitted out with new clothes trainers jackets fleeces (which they have unfortunately needed) etc etc they have everything they could possibly want . The councils have paid for a coach to transport the choir, food and accommodation plus lots of activities, the list goes on and on...thank you .   With all this not coming out of the charities expenses this year it will mean that we can take more money back to kenya where it is most needed.

The Water Mill Hotel in Paisley hosted a party for the children and they had the time of their lives, It was little Ali’s birthday which made it extra special please watch youtube to see their dance moves!

Thank you to all the schools venues and fun packed days which have been organized by so many generous and helpful friends, Scotland has certainly made the choir feel welcomed and  their tour is off to a great start.

Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire Provosts

Every year we are amazed at the help people offer on the children's tour. However this year has been even more tremendous. With Renfrew/East Renfrew Councils taking on board clothes/transport/accommodation while in their area this took so much of the burden from us. I honestly think the highlight of the tour in Paisley area was a visit to Xscape where the kids experienced  snow for the first time in their little lives. Can you imagine what this must be like? I certainly cannot. They then went to a Safari park...yes in Scotland. They saw lions and other animals for the first time and not only the children but the teachers. They loved the day out. Moving on to Dunfermline for a short visit their time was filled with trips to Edinburgh castle/walking under the Forth Bridge/visiting Sea World and so on. First time visiting Dundee and the people there were so welcoming where they want to do it again even bigger next year. London was a great experience for the kids....Little Bavon and Randu were all excited when they came running to us to say they had visited the house of Queen.......took them a while...Elizabeth.....Buckingham Palace. We took them around all the sites..Tower Bridge..tower of London and the boys were all excited at seeing EmeritesiStadium.....Kim and Vanessa Theed had worked really hard at organising their stay there with radio stations covering the kids performances most days. We were inundated by people asking them to stay longer and perform at a church/venue etc so I guess next year it will be even bigger there. The group are now in Somerset where we will update you on their experiences but I know they will be having a great time. How do you say "Thank You"? To so many people who put their lives on hold to assist the kids. Three evenings will always remain with them. Firstly Drew from Renfrew Council took the kids to his drama club where after the kids sang then the club performed from their show...the choreographer then took over and the kids danced with her and loved every minute of it. Their time at the Watermill Hotel disco is another memorable event with the kids saying "this was the best day of my life" In Romford a Champion Break Dancer came along...worked with Samson/Charo and Bavon then they all performed during the show....a standing ovation........they will always remember this.

THANK YOU ONE AND ALL FOR ALL YOU DID AND DO FOR THESE WONDERFUL KIDS. YOU HAVE GIVEN THEM SOMETHING SPECIAL IN THEIR LITTLE LIVES. SOMETHING THEY WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER.....ALL I CAN SAY ON THEIR BEHALF IS "KEEP DOING IT PLEASE!"

A big thank you to Rouken glen garden centre (see photos)
